  • What is the difference between a Corporate Flight Attendant and a Commercial Flight Attendant?

There are very distinct differences between the two. First to become a “commercial” flight attendant for any commercial airline like Delta or Amercian, you would have to go through an interview process that includes screening, background checks, personal scrutiny by trainers as well as very rigorous safety testing based on the airlines level of service, aircraft and branding. The airline will pay for this training, or not. Some airlines ( like a regional) will just opt to offer room and food stipend (a per Diem) during training and hopefully you will make it through the 4-6 week training. Once you graduate after passing both an required examination and an OE. ( You are put on the plane and must perform what you were trained to do satisfactory) Once you are released to the line, in your first year, maybe second, third and fourth you will spend as a reserve flight attendant being on call and making between 18K-25K.  Many first time flight attendants hold second jobs, live with roommates, commute, have a crash pad etc. They find that do not live where they are based. It is a perfect job for a single person who doesn’t have responsibilities like a family, kids, pets etc. And even though the airline may pick up the cost of the training, you still have to not be working for at least 6 weeks. Statistically speaking only about 4% of all commercial airline applicants every make it. It is also been said that more people make it into Harvard than make it as a “commerical flight attendant”As a corporate flight attendant, your experiences, pay and how you get started contrast significantly because first you are responsible for *the upfront investment for training typically up to 6 days and approximately $3200-$5000, which covers all aspects of required safety (cpr, aircraft doors, water ditching etc) needed, includes resume writing, guidance and instructions on how to network, culinary training, fine dining service and food display, travel expenses, and your room and board during training.  But the first step to stepping into your dream job of becoming a “corporate flight attendant” is in your hands. You have to decide that you really want (and need) to get your self in front of hiring companies. Our highly rated training programs give you a comprehensive guide on how to prepare an effective resume, guidance in joining the right groups for networking. The range of a corporate flight attendant annual salary is anywhere from $90K-$175K. And it just depends on how hard and often you are willing to work to meet your goals. To be clear, it is not an easy job and private jet jobs do not drop in front of you. But it is a perfect for current commercial flight attendants, previous flight attendants, single folks( or married) who are looking for adventure, and anyone who doesn’t mind having their bags packed 24/7.  Do the math: 6 weeks training in a commercial airline training program only to graduate to make $24,000 a year. Or Invest $3200 for 6 days corporate flight attendant training, to make $100,000 a year*?
