Who they are

Hop-A-Jet was founded in 1976 by Harvey Hop, a Second World War Navy pilot who came home with the Distinguished Flying Cross and gold star, the Purple Heart and five Air Medals. The company has flown out of Fort Lauderdale Executive ever since.

It is a Part 135 worldwide charter operator, flying and maintaining a fleet that has run from Learjets through long range Challenger 604 and 605 aircraft, with a Gulfstream G280 among the more recent additions. Being based a few minutes from our classroom is what makes a real hangar reachable on a weekday morning.

Our partnership

Hop-A-Jet provides our hangar and stockroom tours. They open the aircraft up so students can walk the cabin, see how a galley and a stockroom are actually laid out on a working airplane, and ask the people who load them how it is really done.
